Studying is an important part of the learning process. However, sitting at your desk, books open, door shut, isn’t always the most productive way to let knowledge soak into your head. With your exams only a matter of weeks away, now is the time to create the ultimate study planner, focusing your mind, body and soul to allow you to perform at your best. Of course, it doesn’t have to be all work and no play. Read on to discover what you can add to your planner to really improve your study efforts.

No-Bake Protein Balls

What are the best foods for studying? Chips? Lollies? Energy drinks? Wrong! While all three will provide some energy, it will be quick to burn off and leave you feeling tired, unmotivated and generally distracted. Naturally, you will get hungry, so why not create your own no-bake protein balls? They are healthy, and packed with protein, natural fats and carbohydrates.

Simply mix oats, protein powder, cinnamon, chia seeds, peanut butter, honey and vanilla extract and roll into sticky balls. Snack away to your heart’s content and you don’t have to worry about all the unnecessary sugar!

For many students, there are plenty of other activities that they enjoy outside of education. This could include sport, music or gaming. However, while you might want to cancel all these activities to study, it can be very beneficial to save time for them.

Research suggests that taking a break from studying and doing something fun can help to simplify difficult topics and allow you to absorb information more readily. Full of positive endorphins and happy vibes, your mind will be ready to focus and study smarter, not harder.

Breathing exercises

Taking time out from study for breathing? Well, not just normal breathing, but techniques designed to slow your heart rate and allow you to better concentrate on your study.

During exam time, it is easy to become anxious or stressed, but by knowing your body and having the tools to calm yourself down, you can control your emotions in a more productive manner. These breathing techniques may also come in handy during the exam!
