Why study Home Management with Kenvale College?
Kenvale’s Home Management Diploma is a unique and innovative course which helps students re-discover the value and impact of the family home. The course focuses on creating happy, peaceful and fulfilled homes; places where each family member feels comfortable and a sense of belonging. The Diploma aims to channel both the practical and philosophical aspects of managing a home. The practical ranges from maintenance, cooking and speed cleaning. The philosophical delves into the appreciation of beauty, creating an atmosphere for celebrations, fostering authentic relationships and family traditions.
The significance of this course lies at the core of the College’s ethos. We believe that those providing this care are not just undertaking a series of material tasks, which may seem insurmountable at times. Rather, they are affirming human dignity, humanising society and shaping culture.
This course delivers to students the ability to differentiate both, in identity and action, the difference between housekeeping and home making. In the words of Jill Savage (Author of Professionalising Motherhood):
“Homemaking is the deliberate cultivation of beauty and productivity in family relationships. Homemaking is about helping your family feel loved and comforted. Homemaking is about celebrating each other, and about caring for each other, as well as for your friends and extended families and even the occasional stranger. Anyone can keep house. Not everyone bothers to make a home.”

Thank you for inviting us - we really did appreciate it. I must say I was really impressed by the Briar Ridge team - one of them (… Aiden) did a really great job explaining who they were, what they were about etc., and really took the time to give us the background on the person behind it all (Gwyn Olsen). He'd clearly immersed himself in the project, and I think she'd have been really pleased if she'd seen that. Happy to reach out and tell her so if you think it would help pave the way for future events.
I just wanted to express thanks and congratulations to all at Kenvale for the magnificent lunch provided on Thursday.
I have been to many hatted restaurants this year and can honestly say that they would have struggled to produce such fantastic dishes.
The lunch was a credit to your students and your staff. It would be a privilege to enjoy another visit next year.
Best wishes to your graduating students for success in their career and to your staff to continue to guide students to reach such a high standard.
