Are you ready for Kenvale's brand refresh?

At Kenvale College, we're constantly striving to evolve and move with these ever-changing times. Though we've been at the very frontier of further education for the best part of 45 years, change and evolution are often necessary to ensure that we stay at the top of the game with regards to attracting and training the next talented generation of hospitality, events and cookery students.

With this in mind, Kenvale College is currently undergoing a 'brand refresh' – a big step for any education establishment to take. Anne Zahra, managing director of Kenvale, shared some insights about the new branding to give a better idea as to why, when and how it's happening, as well as a few key points that will be of interest to students, teachers, industry contacts, alumni and anyone involved with the College. Here's what she had to say!

Refreshing a strong brand to make it even more relevant

Kenvale already has an existing, strong identity, one that has been evident since our founding in 1971. Even so, the purpose of our refresh is to put a fresh touch on our brand. We're seeking to better communicate who we are, and want to tell our story in a more contemporary way.

Take a look at our shield, for example. Our shield is an important part of our identity, but we've redesigned it whilst simultaneously keeping the emblem as our main icon to signify our heritage of being the first private hospitality college in Australia. The fennel flower is representative of our home in New South Wales, the flames illustrative of the 'hearth of the home.' That fire also evokes the warmth of our service and core values – both of which are worth shouting about!

A fresh look for an exciting new blog

We also wanted to coincide our new look with our forthcoming blog, launching this year. This blog is an exciting project of ours that we're starting as a means to provide useful resources to our alumni, the industry, current and future students and simply anyone who may have an interest in hospitality and what we do at Kenvale. The new website and blog will be launched later, in May this year.

A brand to identify with

Kenvale's current values are something that almost everyone can identify with. In fact, our brand and who we are has not changed. Our core mission is still to educate in service, and the overall vision goes further – to provide the hospitality industry and related sectors with outstanding graduates who demonstrate great skill and integrity, as well as showing genuine care for each person.

The truth is, our core values are derived from three simple, integral cornerstones from which anyone could learn: knowledge, experience, and humanity.

A new headline to guide us – and you

Our new headline, 'Learn it and Live it', transmits the way Kenvale offers students a comprehensive education, rewarding work experiences and guaranteed career opportunities. We are the first to combine paid work and study and our courses incorporate the importance of the person and a deeper meaning of service as part of the life and learning experience.

As a result, through the personalised learning and mentoring program, Kenvale College has an industry reputation for producing outstanding graduates and putting them on a path to success – all of this is what we think our new branding will convey.

A story to tell

Every single person has a story to tell, and so do we at Kenvale.

In summary, what we'd really like to achieve with our new branding is to connect with people who visit our website, read our brochures and visit the college – pretty much anyone who interacts with Kenvale in any way.

Every single person has a story to tell, and so do we at Kenvale – that's what we want our new branding to represent. We believe that once people know our story, they will feel a lot more familiar and engaged with what we stand for, helping to establish relationships, partnerships and friendships that could last for years to come! Please get in touch with us today if you'd like to know more about this exciting new development.

Thank you for inviting us – we really did appreciate it. I must say I was really impressed by the Briar Ridge team – one of them (… Aiden) did a really great job explaining who they were, what they were about etc., and really took the time to give us the background on the person behind it all (Gwyn Olsen). He’d clearly immersed himself in the project, and I think she’d have been really pleased if she’d seen that. Happy to reach out and tell her so if you think it would help pave the way for future events.

I just wanted to express thanks and congratulations to all at Kenvale for the magnificent lunch provided on Thursday.

I have been to many hatted restaurants this year and can honestly say that they would have struggled to produce such fantastic dishes.

The lunch was a credit to your students and your staff.  It would be a privilege to enjoy another visit next year.

Best wishes to your graduating students for success in their career and to your staff to continue to guide students to reach such a high standard.
